Schedule:
- 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. pre-teaching, reading literature about the Jewish culture (Hanukkah Haiku), pairing 3-4 Students per adult (about 6 adults needed other than teacher), place name tags on each child, and review the rules and procedures for field trips.
- 10:30 a.m. eat lunch at school (make special arrangements with school)
- 11:00 a.m. board the bus
- 12:00 p.m. arrive at Skirball Cultural Center
- 2 hour tour:
Explore the cultural landscape of present-day Los Angeles on a journey through three galleries of the Skirball’s permanent exhibition
Visions and Values: Jewish Life from Antiquity to America. On this school tour, students examine aspects of Jewish culture, including art, music, and community service in contemporary Los Angeles, and discover similarities with other cultures. The tour culminates in a take-home art project.
- 2:30 p.m. leave Skirball Cultural Center
- 3:30 p.m. arrive back at school (parents are responsible for picking up students on time)
